How to get rid of house flies
How to get rid of flies outside
Let's face it, flies are horrible and disgusting and terrorize us humans and especially love to torment our animals. There are numerous reasons that we would want to get rid of flies and prevent them from torturing us but the number main reason I would say is health hazards that common house flies can give to you.
Cholera - This is a disease that can lead to severe diarrhea and if left untreated can turn into horrible dehydration. Cholera is caused by ingesting food that has been contaminated with the Vibrio Cholerae Bacteria.
The onset occurs in a matter of hours once you have the bacteria and the symptoms can include: dehydration, diarrhea, stomach aches, and the urge to vomit.
Dysentery - This is an inflammation of the intestines and is caused by a number of bacteria spread by the common house fly. Symptoms can include severe abdominal pain and cramps, bloody stool/diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, indigestion, and vomiting. This is also the case of consuming something contaminated from the fly.
- Typhoid Fever - Once again another illness that you get from eating or drinking anything contaminated with the Salmonella typhi bacteria. The worst part about this illness is the fact that it lasts for 3 to 4 weeks and symptoms include none other than......you guessed it diarrhea. Other symptoms include fevers as high as 104 degrees and headaches and all types of aches all over the body. You will need antibiotics.
House flies can even spread parasitic worms, spread leprosy, and even anthrax so you really do not want these ugly insects playing in your food and drinks. The fact is that house flies can spread so many germs and diseases that its better to just keep them away from you and your family at all costs.
Believe it or not, we sent out a few of these fly traps to our good friends at Riders Ranch and as you can see from the video below those traps do exactly what they are meant to do. She stated that after a few weeks of using the fly traps that the fly populations started to die down and many of the flies that were surrounding her horses were dwindling.

So the idea of the fly trap is not just to trap and ensnare the flies but to actually attract the flies away from the area you do not want them. For instance, if you have a barn you would not want to put the trap inside the barn as this is only going to attract more flies to your animals and then they may suffer more than necessary. If you want to see the flies disappear from inside of your house then setting these traps around your house about 10 yards or so around the perimeter of your house should render your house fly free.
